ALBATROS is a medium-early, reliable starch potato variety from Norika breeding, characterized by a high and stable dry matter (starch) content. The tubers are round-oval, light yellow flesh, with a netted yellowish skin and medium-depth eyes. Albatros grows excellently in various soil types. Before planting, it is recommended to condition and prepare the seed, as well as apply chemical treatment against rhizoctonia. The variety is characterized by a long dormancy period, making it particularly well suited for long-term storage. Due to its high and stable starch content and low reducing sugar content, Albatros is excellently suited both for starch production and for dried potato product manufacturing – giving growers flexibility depending on the processing direction. Stable resistance to viral diseases and nematodes (Ro1, Ro4) ensures a reliable yield throughout the season. Country of origin: Germany.
